Boise Astronomical Society

Membership entitles you to  receive the SkyWatcher Newsletter, attend all club Star Parties, the Indoor General Meetings at the Discovery Center of Idaho and any special guest speaker meetings . The SkyWatcher is the monthly newsletter of the BAS. Your literary contributions are very welcome and highly encouraged. Owning a telescope is NOT a requirement of joining the club. We have 8" Dobsonian and Orion XT6 (6 inch) loaner 'scopes available to the membership at large. We also have a H/A filter for viewing the Sun (requires training on use). The club also has several astronomy video cassettes, Sky Atlas 2000 and The Sky software. To borrow any of the equipment for a month, just sign on the dotted line. To check out items, do it at the General BAS Indoor meetings by one of the assign Board Members. Time that items are checked out for are from one BAS indoor meeting to the next indoor meeting.

Guests are always welcome at our Star Parties and Indoor Meetings. We are always hoping they will become a member after attending our meetings.

Yearly dues are $25.00 per household and run from January 1 through December 31. This includes all family members residing at the same address. WHAT A DEAL!

Magazine Subscriptions

Both Astronomy and Sky and Telescope magazines offer subscriptions at club discounts. The club has met the required subscriptions for both magazines so there is no wait to get your order going. Astronomy Magazine is $29.00, and Sky and Telescope is $32.95 You can renew your current regular subscription at the special club rates. Contact club treasurer to subscribe or renew and any updated prices from magazine subscription.
